Our Therapists

Amy Flora MS, OTR/L

Amy has been working as a pediatric OT since she received her Masters in Occupational Therapy in 2015. Amy believes in the importance of creating a safe and trusting environment for therapy which allows each child to feel confident to try new skills, play, and grow. Amy is experienced in working with kids who struggle with sensory processing skills, fine motor/visual motor development, self-care skills, motor coordination, and self-regulation skills. She has training in building sensory diets, pediatric trauma, TEACCH methodology for children with autism, pediatric sleep difficulties, and sensory processing interventions. She has experience in a variety of clinical settings including working with Kaiser’s developmental autism team, the school setting, early intervention, home health, and clinic based services. She has a special interest in working with kids with Autism, Down Syndrome, and developmental delays. Amy is passionate about meeting each child where they are at and building their skills and confidence through play.

Emily Gloss M.S., CCC-SLP, CEIS

Emily has been a practicing pediatric speech and language pathologist since 2013. She received her Masters in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Emerson College and holds a certificate of clinical competence from the American-Speech-Hearing-Association (ASHA). She believes in supporting families to reach their goals with their children through strengths-based approaches and parent coaching. Her experience includes working with children who have needs in the areas of apraxia of speech, feeding, auditory skills, fluency (stuttering), social pragmatics, phonology and articulation, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), executive functioning and language.  She has special interest in working with families who have children who are deaf or hard of hearing, childhood apraxia of speech (CAS), Down Syndrome and Autism. Emily has completed advanced training in the Dynamic Tactile and Temporal Cueing (DTTC) approach CAS. Emily is passionate about helping children build upon and grow their relationships with their friends and family through all modes of communication.

Our skilled therapist offers personalized therapy tailored to your child’s unique needs starting at the initial evaluation. Services she can provide within the speech and language realm encompass more than meets the eye. Difficulties with articulation, or being understood when saying sounds, and language are just the tip of the iceberg. Services that can be provided include working on feeding skills, executive function strategies, learning how to hear, motor speech sound sequencing related to apraxia of speech, using alternative and augmentative communication and social/pragmatic language practice should your child need assistance in these areas as well.

Through occupational therapy services your child can work on their fine motor/visual motor development, sensory processing skills, self-regulation, self-care skills, and motor coordination. Occupational Therapists can provide you with home programming to address these areas of concern including home exercise programs, sensory diets, and self-regulation strategies. These interventions can help your child to be the best version of themselves and allow them to be successful across environments.
